Who and why built Göbekli Tepe
Early in his career, in 1963, a young archaeologist Peter Benedict went on excavations in Turkey. Examining a number of mounds, one of which was called Göbekli Tepe (Potbelly hill), he by their appearance suggested that he was dealing with the Byzantine era and did not really have to worry. Unearth burial katafraktariev was not his profile, so Benedict, limiting verbal descriptions of mounds, went to Africa.
It took more than 30 years and employees of the German Institute of archaeology with their colleagues from Turkey started digging, hoping to find the burial place of the Byzantines. Imagine their surprise when they instead of trinkets discovered 8th century temple complex, not related to any known cultures.
Klaus Schmidt, the head of the group, sent the rock samples for radiocarbon Dating, but without any analysis it was clear that the discovery of no less than eight thousand years. The excavations lasted for more than 15 years. Despite the small volume of excavated soil, it was a very serious explanation: scientists are faced with is so unique that any haste that could lead to damage of the objects were inappropriate.
What did the researchers find? At the lowest level of excavation was found four similar complex of circular shape, located at the perimeter of the T-shaped columns decorated with stone carvings depicting various animals and religious scenes. The height of the individual columns reached 9 meters. The age of the monument, according to the estimates of physicists amounted to about 12 thousand years. It was the first religious structure of mankind, about 5 thousand years older than the oldest megalithic temples are located in Malta. Stonehenge and the pyramids of Giza – even infants compared with the temple at Göbekli Tepe.
The most mysterious in this story was that the scientist was not known to either one of the possible crops that would use these buildings. Thus, the opening of the temple complex was put before historians from two mysteries: what is it and who did it?
Indeed, it was hard to find any people that used this structure, but, at least, lived in the area. At that time all pockets of emerging civilizations were located either South or North-West of Göbekli Tepe.
There were different versions for this reason. Someone believed that the inhabitants of the area were descendants of natufian, one of the first cultures to master agriculture. There were opinions that the people who built the temple – came from the Eastern regions of Central Asia. Moreover, there was even expressed the theory that the entire population of Europe came not from the then inhabitants of the Volga region (modern, canonical hypothesis, called «Kurgan»), and from inhabitants of the area where Göbekli Tepe. The latter became known as the «Anatolian hypothesis» and is now considered as an alternative to Burial. But they did not give the answer to the question: who were these people.
However, the most interesting thing was the archaeologists in a few years. In 1998 he was discovered a few such facilities. A couple of years, they were found in eight; all of them were located around the city of Harran. The area around Haran is a kind of oasis, about 10 km in diameter and the perimeter of the oasis was geometrically correctly located six such facilities. In the center of each was a free-standing column, oriented exactly in Haran.
What was this city? Its name translates as «fork» or «junction.» Officially, its recorded history spans around three thousand years, however, there is evidence that it existed much earlier. In addition, Harran is known from the Bible and other sources, as the birthplace of Abraham. The same Abraham who «begot Isaac»; the biblical Patriarch, lived more than 200 years and, in fact, the first man to whom God gave new knowledge.
Information about many historical figures of that time came to us in the form of scraps of various myths, legends, sacred texts. They are often violated as a chronological sequence, and names of places or personalities, but most importantly almost always remains the same.
Analyzing the person of Abraham and his actions, we can say the following: it was not a poor man, who lived in the city of ordinary, measured life. And now, suddenly, he, his family and his servants suddenly takes off and begins to travel to neighboring countries and engage in some activity. Moreover, he not just travels, and meets with the rulers of these countries. At the end of the journey, he returns home, finds his son and wife die. Describes the actions of Abraham in the Bible.
But among the Jewish legends are not all included in the canonical version of the Bible. There are many Apocrypha, the contents of which did not get it, however, they have the same origin and can be considered as a source identical to the Bible. Two of them, namely, «the Revelation of Abraham,» and «Death of Abraham» detail the steps of Abraham before and after the trip. The second apocryphal; it describes how Abraham traveled to heaven, where he met many famous characters, from Enoch, one of the first «space travelers», to Adam, the first man on earth.
All of the above has allowed Alan Rasmaker to create a very interesting hypothesis that explains who Abraham was, and that was a ancient structure, such as pot-Bellied hill. According to Rasmaker, Abraham lived much earlier than that described by the Bible. The time of his life roughly coincided with the time of the construction of Göbekli Tepe.
In fact, since that time, humanity began to develop as a settled civilization. Just then, there was the transition from hunting and gathering to agriculture in the form in which we imagine. But it occurred not independently, and under the direct control of a civilization with extraterrestrial origin. And people, like Arama, who lived in the area, which was later called Haran, and were the most holders and bearers of this knowledge. If you look at the problem from this angle, the words «Patriarch» and «crossroads», in relation to a person and the city sound very symbolic.
Abraham was the project Manager for the dissemination of information, and his family and servants – just subordinates, carrying out the important task of training the natives of new knowledge. And this was very important because approached so-called «younger Dryas» — the last stage of the glacial period, which could put humanity on the brink of extinction. Of knowledge given to mankind by Abraham and his group, helped our ancestors to overcome this difficult stage…
And what is Göbekli Tepe? What is this structure and a few more similar to it located near Haran? Rather, it is a part of a communication complex, which was carried out the connection between Abraham and those who sent him to the Ground.
The hypothesis of Rasmaker too bold and radical; on her confirmation can take a lot of time. Excavations on the ancient hill will be according to the calculations of Schmidt to go another 50 years. That will open a new humanity as a result of the analysis of its ancient structures? This is not no one can say. It is possible that the hypothesis of Rasmaker confirmed.
